Why?
- Hardware support of particular configurations is expensive.
- More demand for Linux support than Sun Sparc Solaris.
- Though Windows has an enormous user base, it is not a
productive research environment for state-of-the-art
recognition systems.
- Compatibility of C++ compilers (and development tools)
is still a very real issue.
