This utility performs static syntax checking to enforce the ISIP coding standards for C++. It outputs any violations in a format consistent with gcc's error messages, so they can be parsed by emacs in the same manner.

This script is called by our makefiles by invoking the "make format" directive. It works on both header files (.h) and code files (.cc).
