About Our System Requirements

We currently support two major packages: (1) a speech recognition system based on our C++ foundation classes which is known as the production system, and (2) a prototype system that was our first attempt at building a general purpose speech recognition system in C++. These systems have slightly different installation requirements, as described below.

Also, we do not support the isip_r02_n00 release on Sun Sparc architecture though it successfully builds on it. Please note that release r02_n00 of the production system and v5.14 of the prototype system were the last releases that explicitly supported the Sun Sparc architecture. Sun Microsystems announced discontinuation of this processor in late 2002. As a result, we no longer test our releases on this hardware, and have instead increased our support of x86 Linux platforms.
